We were trying to set up an apartment for a senior couple to live in Tortola. We went by ferry over to Virgin Gorda three days and tried to meet the members there and went with the Branch President to have sacrament both Sundays in the afternoon. The weather has been delightful. The people are very friendly. They speak English and of course drive on the "wrong" side of the street according to us. It is very hilly with steep, winding, narrow roads. It really takes the 4wheel drive to get into the apartment. Turning around is quite a chore These pictures show the view coming into Tortola Harbor. The only level space seems to be by the harbor and the short airstrip.<br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhA_Z6kEylnltxfpFR2_v1tX8k1d2DMMfb3Xp1u48_d2NZ9Af4bbXtuNKlUmxV6x8tYlFzWVWQw7wSZFhZgz-zBijnCe0tKvxMIa_PTMFYq0aWcs8Vo2L8BQ_oisguKjPGPNAKMkswC0eQ/s1600/Tortola+008.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5547593417035059554" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhA_Z6kEylnltxfpFR2_v1tX8k1d2DMMfb3Xp1u48_d2NZ9Af4bbXtuNKlUmxV6x8tYlFzWVWQw7wSZFhZgz-zBijnCe0tKvxMIa_PTMFYq0aWcs8Vo2L8BQ_oisguKjPGPNAKMkswC0eQ/s320/Tortola+008.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg7F75W1co7X_ZjbAI0CoxdB2vnS6rKTAmK4kjWJ7XF5vSLRIw9KHul96ZIFUd8ZMpLDhzGJiz25-GM30ZQtyuxKOMg07r1Jl3M_Lh9tVy9Mm9ZA0ZR_2EWKcfmylbK9oww0VF3TXGHMMY/s1600/Tortola+007.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5547593416792722674" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg7F75W1co7X_ZjbAI0CoxdB2vnS6rKTAmK4kjWJ7XF5vSLRIw9KHul96ZIFUd8ZMpLDhzGJiz25-GM30ZQtyuxKOMg07r1Jl3M_Lh9tVy9Mm9ZA0ZR_2EWKcfmylbK9oww0VF3TXGHMMY/s320/Tortola+007.jpg" border="0" /></a> Virgin Gorda view.<br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgq6GYcYfQKTqxEjXfLoiQJ6jN0FQ2b-KqhPVOQ98r9F94ix9xrgH-wBCLY5F-DvOSzbYtr-pX1_ez8pQ8AHoawz2iZ7Yad6Y-DsHwwxZM4kAkmewQ3uCyJY87EUP9J2D5RnaLUtj57-Ts/s1600/Tortola+005.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5547593408684607730" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgq6GYcYfQKTqxEjXfLoiQJ6jN0FQ2b-KqhPVOQ98r9F94ix9xrgH-wBCLY5F-DvOSzbYtr-pX1_ez8pQ8AHoawz2iZ7Yad6Y-DsHwwxZM4kAkmewQ3uCyJY87EUP9J2D5RnaLUtj57-Ts/s320/Tortola+005.jpg" border="0" /></a> We had lunch in Virgin Gorda and you can see Tortola in the background.<br /><br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjidZK4vQrvv5CHpCdX_pY-3ETZbrdpfB_TJI0HLezA9P5ORmmwExJ1MocFCw2dpTHB2-mGt-6wjj2FIxQ0smSt3Zxpcyv4Z2SfseRYOL8P1fY8IbiTOJyGMNYNJ72j_Z9BS5u7ncv_aEc/s1600/Tortola+003.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5547590841008112274" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjidZK4vQrvv5CHpCdX_pY-3ETZbrdpfB_TJI0HLezA9P5ORmmwExJ1MocFCw2dpTHB2-mGt-6wjj2FIxQ0smSt3Zxpcyv4Z2SfseRYOL8P1fY8IbiTOJyGMNYNJ72j_Z9BS5u7ncv_aEc/s320/Tortola+003.jpg" border="0" /></a> These two pictures are from our apartment. Chucho was upset to miss a day of school because he had been practicing for weeks to win the turkey race at his school. Most of the schools have turkey races the Friday before Thanksgiving and the winners get big turkeys. So we had our own turkey race and would you believe Chucho beat everyone. His small turkey was cooked along with the large one. Sister Alvarado's dad cooked the turkey and it was delicious. Our Thanksgiving dinner was a very tasty one at the Mission Home.<br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhcLstyjxNMXllk8b8K8hyphenhyphenRPjPIbIXZZrxqIzjVAG3Z07Sbwd6W1jIPJfQGiaPAghOK-rM3LagKX7pCN-6W6XgibOnDyw7hpv3DUsfdTwq93iGW82e0z9ZSEq5HPXopiIghKQlKAN12Ojo/s1600/Aruba+%2526+Puerto+Rico+534.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5547579016137875170" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhcLstyjxNMXllk8b8K8hyphenhyphenRPjPIbIXZZrxqIzjVAG3Z07Sbwd6W1jIPJfQGiaPAghOK-rM3LagKX7pCN-6W6XgibOnDyw7hpv3DUsfdTwq93iGW82e0z9ZSEq5HPXopiIghKQlKAN12Ojo/s320/Aruba+%2526+Puerto+Rico+534.jpg" border="0" /></a> Our Mission President's family----Kelli, Jorge, and Cari Anne at the pool in Vieques.<br /><br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhoWsrcGpIfCmEU3bglHgMGlML_YFTXyxn2XQNCSxvprnGmy2cCKoTmAAAfFSjpwWJ__CR9n5T3J834Q8zewUe6iY-Kq6Lq7o9_aqkhOvdtOL_MJzIJigFC-MPAjnabvfhAr0g_XUSXAH4/s1600/Aruba+%2526+Puerto+Rico+516.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5547579006947857778" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhoWsrcGpIfCmEU3bglHgMGlML_YFTXyxn2XQNCSxvprnGmy2cCKoTmAAAfFSjpwWJ__CR9n5T3J834Q8zewUe6iY-Kq6Lq7o9_aqkhOvdtOL_MJzIJigFC-MPAjnabvfhAr0g_XUSXAH4/s320/Aruba+%2526+Puerto+Rico+516.jpg" border="0" /></a> The Alvarados on our porch in Vieques.<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPgZ8olO41PmQvBfHcJDUPpW6Fzmpl7lC2sasxSv9wbuUJCAA21CNd-7tf3mU_2yQKNZGuaD1yy4ZTSVbClcJ8YIjq_k0A2Nq7rhvLhieNoTqfol2rbqu_SSv90Bd0wpBguebFNEHmdtQ/s1600/Aruba+%2526+Puerto+Rico+515.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5547579001549158818" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPgZ8olO41PmQvBfHcJDUPpW6Fzmpl7lC2sasxSv9wbuUJCAA21CNd-7tf3mU_2yQKNZGuaD1yy4ZTSVbClcJ8YIjq_k0A2Nq7rhvLhieNoTqfol2rbqu_SSv90Bd0wpBguebFNEHmdtQ/s320/Aruba+%2526+Puerto+Rico+515.jpg" border="0" /></a> View from our porch.</div><br /><br /><br /><div>We actually took a couple days off and enjoyed visiting Vieques, a nearby island to Puerto Rico. We went with the Alvarado family and two other senior couples. The first night we rented individual kayaks to go out on Mosquito Bay and see the Bioluminescent effect. Unfortunately there was too much moonlight, but we could still see the flashy effects of thousands of little microorganisms that soak up the sunlight one day and during the night give off light if they are disturbed--the paddle moving, swimming, fish. They only live for 24 hours. We toured the island the next day and had a delightful swim in the Caribbean.<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjOfM2HiecoGtvCjrwwjEbR7QLX9I6pXKjOMHFcdLkTUQYOzKMUrZDHKTUVJpFmc7GkoXkKOg6B5ksijW_sqDCbcsh08vZGIvHv6sW2NF7Pa8cqrtUoM_XfMAt0jg8bM4KOIeijFCqR89k/s1600/Aruba+%2526+Puerto+Rico+510.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5547576440586198706" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjOfM2HiecoGtvCjrwwjEbR7QLX9I6pXKjOMHFcdLkTUQYOzKMUrZDHKTUVJpFmc7GkoXkKOg6B5ksijW_sqDCbcsh08vZGIvHv6sW2NF7Pa8cqrtUoM_XfMAt0jg8bM4KOIeijFCqR89k/s320/Aruba+%2526+Puerto+Rico+510.jpg" border="0" /></a> When it rains, it can really come down hard in a short period of time. All the missionaries gather at a stake center every 6 weeks and then the President announces the changes and they all leave and go to their new areas. This is Elder Sellers with us. We first met him in Aruba when he was a zone leader on Curacao. Here he is an Assistant to the President. We saw him every day at the office. Often when the 3 assistants to the presidents would also spend the night, we would all gather both morning and evening for family prayer and for the missionaries to sing a hymn or two for us. It was an excellent way to start and finish the day. We are in the living room waiting to hear them sing.<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQo5jegxnnPkhuVIW0cODvynd0N_t_tv3hJkxR_VRzSAvOf-A5Q6Hu2TicIW7SUHuWrAqB0ItvA3CEf2gjKgDy2npwaZ-OHg_qYNwGIrPpnM5pLpn3SuwDGQiu_u8Bh0JFy3W_UYFeJBY/s1600/First+picturres+from+Puerto+Rico+018.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5469381757068763186" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQo5jegxnnPkhuVIW0cODvynd0N_t_tv3hJkxR_VRzSAvOf-A5Q6Hu2TicIW7SUHuWrAqB0ItvA3CEf2gjKgDy2npwaZ-OHg_qYNwGIrPpnM5pLpn3SuwDGQiu_u8Bh0JFy3W_UYFeJBY/s320/First+picturres+from+Puerto+Rico+018.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><div>This is a little coqui frog the Martineau's daughter caught for me at the Mission Home when we were staying there. Elder and Sister Ramirez are both almost 80 and going strong.<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div>pietzmissionhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10813425317801654052noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6373674737690055812.post-61218729840405495662010-05-09T12:02:00.000-07:002010-05-09T12:59:48.535-07:00Leaving Aruba<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8Pyb2UG-qy-ewD5BtQcoJP3ZflpDb9-6jTJwSg0qcAfvt_oy2J4wk__y3IP8UykzhkKfmyh6KoGIjGwcJC4tf551yXkgFubojox_hKxTCThwMhCgO8LgvISSfqUe-ghVZq0DiFcjgZb0/s1600/First+picturres+from+Puerto+Rico+012.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5469356944924676098" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8Pyb2UG-qy-ewD5BtQcoJP3ZflpDb9-6jTJwSg0qcAfvt_oy2J4wk__y3IP8UykzhkKfmyh6KoGIjGwcJC4tf551yXkgFubojox_hKxTCThwMhCgO8LgvISSfqUe-ghVZq0DiFcjgZb0/s320/First+picturres+from+Puerto+Rico+012.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiiWbRqkgMq0IpO2RVOBBNITXrVLexqx76J_F75OzLSL_smwR7jgNWlJhYn-EEvA5LJrPMO0Qo2DG5xJPjQSr91fKg2dBgn62ReC3qM4sypJPk-4h2ZkzaTLoLXPWDgzNdnraJIUFc5bww/s1600/First+picturres+from+Puerto+Rico+010.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5469356932712036178" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiiWbRqkgMq0IpO2RVOBBNITXrVLexqx76J_F75OzLSL_smwR7jgNWlJhYn-EEvA5LJrPMO0Qo2DG5xJPjQSr91fKg2dBgn62ReC3qM4sypJPk-4h2ZkzaTLoLXPWDgzNdnraJIUFc5bww/s320/First+picturres+from+Puerto+Rico+010.jpg" border="0" /></a> Elder Zenger and Elder Ellis baked us a cake for our going away party. Elder Ellis will stay on Aruba until he goes home next summer. Elder Zenger will be coming back to Puerto Rico this week for transfers and we are excited to see him. I have been corresponding with his parents and have become friends with Trish. We just found out that Trish and her husband Paul will be coming to visit Puerto Rico in a month to stay with her son-in-law's parents only about 1/2 hour from here. Their son-in-law served his mission in Puerto Rico and now their son is here. They of course can't visit with Elder Zenger so he will stay focused on his work and mission, but Elder Pietz and I are looking forward to visiting with them.</div><div><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYACoJ3pzIujhYOJyFpr9M7XL9elU_kOFSBcI-kQozq8TofyP8487_5t2GXhptZ1wCwgohnUdMoZiaCWD3krTaYk425xzLtF4XsqTVkwNkpL2Pu-TZCQ5fnnuBGafGl2HBfuWUdpIuG9Q/s1600/First+picturres+from+Puerto+Rico+009.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5469354102780198962" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYACoJ3pzIujhYOJyFpr9M7XL9elU_kOFSBcI-kQozq8TofyP8487_5t2GXhptZ1wCwgohnUdMoZiaCWD3krTaYk425xzLtF4XsqTVkwNkpL2Pu-TZCQ5fnnuBGafGl2HBfuWUdpIuG9Q/s320/First+picturres+from+Puerto+Rico+009.jpg" border="0" /></a> This is Sherman, a Chinese, that is part of the San Nicolas Branch but just hasn't been baptized. He comes to church every week, always helps with any service projects, will do anything to help. Sherman came to lunch every Sunday and we went out for dinner with him several times. His father, a great man, and Sherman invited us out to a Chinese restaurant a couple times. Sherman flew to visit some friends in Florida a couple times and went to Sam's Club and the post office for us and brought us back lots of things on our wish list. We are hoping he will soon be baptized and receive more blessings.<br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHuyWguFFedVFQJTNbHQ4KIqXeVy6Ejh-ErHQW35Mvj6DXB7Ug1vUgP5MUNdNhOmSgxRAREVyIMj6uqCNd5TVGLG3hYDpCtzlbw2m145ooMkIbzBooX1H4I3IsLLi5upsJR59QL0T0vyM/s1600/First+picturres+from+Puerto+Rico+005.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5469351691285423634" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHuyWguFFedVFQJTNbHQ4KIqXeVy6Ejh-ErHQW35Mvj6DXB7Ug1vUgP5MUNdNhOmSgxRAREVyIMj6uqCNd5TVGLG3hYDpCtzlbw2m145ooMkIbzBooX1H4I3IsLLi5upsJR59QL0T0vyM/s320/First+picturres+from+Puerto+Rico+005.jpg" border="0" /></a> One of the highlights of our mission was getting to know Gerde. Once she knew about the gospel and was going to be baptized, she absolutely just bubbled with joy. She was so excited about the gospel. Elder Pietz had the real delight in being able to baptize her in the ocean. She will always have a special place in our hearts. They had a little going away party for us. This is a picture of our branch president, President Buckley and his wife Johanna. We lived at their home and they were wonderful friends. We enjoyed having Sunday afternoon barbeques in their garden with all the missionaries and some new converts and investigators. President spent months building and adding new touches to a BBQ oven/grill. They are very generous and warm loving people. They were always thinking of others. They are talking about going on a mission themselves.</div><br /><br /><br /><br /><div></div><br /><br /><br /><br /><div></div><br /><br /><br /><br /><div><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><div></div></div></div></div></div>pietzmissionhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10813425317801654052noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6373674737690055812.post-25045759924550669222010-04-05T15:09:00.000-07:002010-04-05T16:09:39.487-07:00Church in San Nicolaas<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjElebN9QUSEoTUCrGMHj6OhgqDO93wm0nlorGZm3DA1NpVuM9o-qxPTxttkrpxq7jspSfuBh5Flc7_9M14HlF1dqNXBtTGScYwtQsega8h8uILyHQFyfhEQ38pUxxyOsME4lz2VxoMUgo/s1600/Last+pictures+from+Aruba+006.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5456785559857720818" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjElebN9QUSEoTUCrGMHj6OhgqDO93wm0nlorGZm3DA1NpVuM9o-qxPTxttkrpxq7jspSfuBh5Flc7_9M14HlF1dqNXBtTGScYwtQsega8h8uILyHQFyfhEQ38pUxxyOsME4lz2VxoMUgo/s320/Last+pictures+from+Aruba+006.jpg" border="0" /></a> <div>The Pantophlet family have been members for a long time in Aruba. This is the first time the branch was able to see conference in San Nicolaas. Elder Pietz was able to get DSL approved and installed and then got permission for a new updated flat screen TV so conference could be received via internet and transferred to the TV screen. It had been very difficult for the people to get transportation to the other chapel a half hour away to view conference. They look on us as "parents or grandparents". We worked well together and likewise played well together too. There is a picture of the six of us at the beach at the end of our Pday. The sisters had already put their skirts back on. They all played volleyball with about 6 more elders and I had a nice walk along the beach.<br /> The six of us enjoyed the butterfly farm, though our pictures didn't show how beautiful these foreign varieties were. I loved the bright blue ones.<br /> One Pday we were running short on time and still wanted to have time for Baskin Robbins icecream, but two of the bikes had flats. So the sisters volunteered to ride the elders' bikes. That way 4 elders and the 2 bikes that needed to be fixed could go in the sisters' car. The only trouble was that Sister Fair (left) is super short and had trouble getting up on the bike. Sister Reid is on the right.<br /> Elder Teaupa left) and Elder Lehr (right) are really enjoying a special breakfast buffet at the Radisson Hotel. We all splurged and had a breakfast and then had our district meeting on a lawn. The two elders tried to outeat each other. We all had plenty to eat. They had to eat a big lunch at one of the member's homes. I'm glad we didn't have a sandwich until much later that day. Elder Teaupa is from Tonga though he lived in Australia for about 10 years. He will be returning to BYU Hawaii in 2 months. Elder Pietz wants to take a trip to Tonga when we return home.pietzmissionhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10813425317801654052noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6373674737690055812.post-27380603344959915372009-12-27T14:24:00.000-08:002009-12-27T15:06:04.686-08:00Christmas in Aruba<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-XgUEZGNkAM2wlVIJMU43Dj_3xNftFFQWhxRmmOCY-8-WQTjFAZtSigQBCEm_xKMt0YBK0YCWMb3VtIM_ykhOtznCw6IZoEfoFVqdqdyDfB3WWXekFtkbfzihDQRcaWPDGwihZqo1PEs/s1600-h/December+007.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-XgUEZGNkAM2wlVIJMU43Dj_3xNftFFQWhxRmmOCY-8-WQTjFAZtSigQBCEm_xKMt0YBK0YCWMb3VtIM_ykhOtznCw6IZoEfoFVqdqdyDfB3WWXekFtkbfzihDQRcaWPDGwihZqo1PEs/s320/December+007.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5420055179207084706" /></a><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhMhG6nkHvL634vgZlul6F_fuiblvq3cvWxNQjI7EHghkpHOF7XSVF7Q7pB9CrJ7qpI5b9XQz4gi6u1ZmltocJFkxDDukBmj2B5FIBfduBpWMm_787ZDN9m-wRGzMWJbjrMYpPxSNyNxV0/s1600-h/December+009.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhMhG6nkHvL634vgZlul6F_fuiblvq3cvWxNQjI7EHghkpHOF7XSVF7Q7pB9CrJ7qpI5b9XQz4gi6u1ZmltocJFkxDDukBmj2B5FIBfduBpWMm_787ZDN9m-wRGzMWJbjrMYpPxSNyNxV0/s320/December+009.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5420054370697975010" /></a><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3gRFtu6VBmHFQWwGMn6w9sJmSpln2s8hPoSj5u_Eaou1xGVMUTvy1u90KEKA5RuTLyW0MBEtzdEsjg5Ej_Tbx6z8uLW8ChIJ6-GNEtJ952In8noJcQqucyM304DaSSaVNBjO9iK8Yquo/s1600-h/December+010.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3gRFtu6VBmHFQWwGMn6w9sJmSpln2s8hPoSj5u_Eaou1xGVMUTvy1u90KEKA5RuTLyW0MBEtzdEsjg5Ej_Tbx6z8uLW8ChIJ6-GNEtJ952In8noJcQqucyM304DaSSaVNBjO9iK8Yquo/s320/December+010.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5420053246483427922" /></a><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjOnNuJuYqJU5oQCImI-jifxeAZdEN-8IZW3TJh5O1f7aPqMPgGdmSEvvu32_HesPF0M_ikrD5oWfy1imwqYagqnxqsLO-8pJ91mKHsSBbThajvy8wdzC2Nih5jbwv_4Xj2HpjTeL3Sf24/s1600-h/December+011.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjOnNuJuYqJU5oQCImI-jifxeAZdEN-8IZW3TJh5O1f7aPqMPgGdmSEvvu32_HesPF0M_ikrD5oWfy1imwqYagqnxqsLO-8pJ91mKHsSBbThajvy8wdzC2Nih5jbwv_4Xj2HpjTeL3Sf24/s320/December+011.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5420051895486715698" /></a><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjF07_qaHT3Y351LIyQWBskZBSohLhpUBKs4LqWkKQdBmoDmZLdwwyKCK3t0ztXLbhUeYzFpnseh9kFYH9ZZLUbSmBsNFsZukQFxOlb6Mx7eFLkV-oiE9W0OzME1rzhuJRYwnslEREDkCw/s1600-h/December+006.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjF07_qaHT3Y351LIyQWBskZBSohLhpUBKs4LqWkKQdBmoDmZLdwwyKCK3t0ztXLbhUeYzFpnseh9kFYH9ZZLUbSmBsNFsZukQFxOlb6Mx7eFLkV-oiE9W0OzME1rzhuJRYwnslEREDkCw/s320/December+006.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5420050763667962418" /></a><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjf23792GgqqD6qqkNXsWbqmdeRe7wpNN8aWIf2PCkPdkTRgKXHh8s92tu-n6qoi_lWngHPDUTetpS7yocF1B0zTslsz_QV1sWhj2_qbUqpZVmWhIAfTBSQRo7C1JLeQSfwBuJmizmYR8k/s1600-h/December+005.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjf23792GgqqD6qqkNXsWbqmdeRe7wpNN8aWIf2PCkPdkTRgKXHh8s92tu-n6qoi_lWngHPDUTetpS7yocF1B0zTslsz_QV1sWhj2_qbUqpZVmWhIAfTBSQRo7C1JLeQSfwBuJmizmYR8k/s320/December+005.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5420049737350401858" /></a><br /> Merry Christmas from the Aruban Missionaries. Elder Pietz wanted both pictures of us displayed to show how tall and skinny the cactus are. <br /> I got up early to go to the cliffs along the ocean to watch the sunrise Christmas morning with the elders and sisters. Then we stopped off at the beach so one sister could make sand angels. <br /> For Christmas dinner we made dinner for 21 including all 14 missionaries, so Elder Pietz and another man had to make two round trips about an hour and 15 minutes to pick them up and deliver them back to the far side of the island. We all had a great time. The food was great. We had lots of fun with the missionaries with white elephant gifts. Our phone was used for 8 hours straight for some of them to call home to family. They only talk to family at Christmas and Mother's Day so it was a very special time for them.<br /> Close to us is a neighborhood that for 20 years has planned a decoration of lights. Each year the display changes. Now I think they have sponsors that give some financial support. Not many people put up decorations and if they do, it is usually not elaborate. This display uses marine plywood that can be taken down and reused. There were stairs going up there for people to actually walk to the top. Many people brought their lawn chairs and just sat and enjoyed the lights. The pictures just show a portion of the lights.pietzmissionhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10813425317801654052noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6373674737690055812.post-76224755902284135992009-12-26T08:01:00.000-08:002009-12-27T14:24:26.248-08:00Busy Month<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3y5U6he0PvqCu7sRX_mehGPi7YfWzSerQqeL_GZoox_iDgRMSD0wNXC5LxRWA5BDc6ICU5SKjfowrnUUl51KEBDziTtLI07Hu_d5hcOYejOLu_3NMFY_vyyAFzKQKr0f6tzfV4N4pxz4/s1600-h/December+004.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3y5U6he0PvqCu7sRX_mehGPi7YfWzSerQqeL_GZoox_iDgRMSD0wNXC5LxRWA5BDc6ICU5SKjfowrnUUl51KEBDziTtLI07Hu_d5hcOYejOLu_3NMFY_vyyAFzKQKr0f6tzfV4N4pxz4/s320/December+004.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5420045123518355122" /></a><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiAPJT1Z1kc4O6oiGV0rzAY3P8r1P2SJ1HM8Y6uyvWDb1dCF22kzsZVl76xvUdNOi2XLtGrdN-ho7Ws-hGa9BaeL9wNVbJytewxyppQ6_fncCJR40eQlGZRbgqoRCdZ0SUpDghT2WnbjWY/s1600-h/December+003.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiAPJT1Z1kc4O6oiGV0rzAY3P8r1P2SJ1HM8Y6uyvWDb1dCF22kzsZVl76xvUdNOi2XLtGrdN-ho7Ws-hGa9BaeL9wNVbJytewxyppQ6_fncCJR40eQlGZRbgqoRCdZ0SUpDghT2WnbjWY/s320/December+003.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5420043598461400802" /></a><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXmsyyqinckjQwCN-iiu-UdGDH-tYpfBPea2pKtjtANv7QW3xjcTUW9y-ioKPUtxeXXtl2TT7UoxoZq9IBlftOSe-UAU-uuAzBSjrUmAiGkCw-0JRZZAsvfq4g_VdMXus1aZnrLel4fCw/s1600-h/December+002.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXmsyyqinckjQwCN-iiu-UdGDH-tYpfBPea2pKtjtANv7QW3xjcTUW9y-ioKPUtxeXXtl2TT7UoxoZq9IBlftOSe-UAU-uuAzBSjrUmAiGkCw-0JRZZAsvfq4g_VdMXus1aZnrLel4fCw/s320/December+002.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5420042283604241538" /></a><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjvinCzlmrhOqK9cF0iAULNLOb9c2IO_uEiT4fgd8A2hDwzO-s_zGibMTHzGlAR_46Kg8g7hadJjN56Oaofdrqq8y8IjyHyUjKnPgIaDo9QwJCXMAbo1z6R7c2HqHUcUIUQqUkVYy-IsNQ/s1600-h/December+001.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjvinCzlmrhOqK9cF0iAULNLOb9c2IO_uEiT4fgd8A2hDwzO-s_zGibMTHzGlAR_46Kg8g7hadJjN56Oaofdrqq8y8IjyHyUjKnPgIaDo9QwJCXMAbo1z6R7c2HqHUcUIUQqUkVYy-IsNQ/s320/December+001.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5420041267219471794" /></a><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3jEfWblA-Vmb6fY42rLsn9SpDVLh5unrunt5ND03RCt7GSkGtx8_NvC9Qlt-i3ijDuLaA31FDvqRa0_jhmlt8KJ8_O8QRmvdvA1neusMzd2N5wZVhnIxA_qKX_KT6RqXxK96Wo09_rnY/s1600-h/DSC00253.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3jEfWblA-Vmb6fY42rLsn9SpDVLh5unrunt5ND03RCt7GSkGtx8_NvC9Qlt-i3ijDuLaA31FDvqRa0_jhmlt8KJ8_O8QRmvdvA1neusMzd2N5wZVhnIxA_qKX_KT6RqXxK96Wo09_rnY/s320/DSC00253.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5419604165012651058" /></a><br />Time still went by quickly here even though we were not busy with holiday gift buying and decorating. We had a nice Thanksgiving dinner here in our courtyard and even cooked a turkey. We went to another cave on the island with our elders and sisters. Had great fun with all the missionaries(24) from the three islands-Aruba, Bonaire, and Curacao--at our Christmas zone conference. We celebrated at a Japanese restaurant for a lovely luncheon with fun chefs cooking the food for us. We had a nice Christmas program and dinner at church. The elders and sisters are teaching many wonderful people and we are able to go with on many lessons.pietzmissionhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10813425317801654052noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6373674737690055812.post-79550459977600736672009-11-23T09:32:00.000-08:002009-11-23T10:10:10.616-08:00Baptisms in Aruba<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi1gJJz84JvUPyaPhfK9mkOBksJiaNUbBC2E8kOxCtdO5up0xz7cRA3yR80IGJqcW9oQRcdFo9x8MpXYOcrTHt-NYi0uVY8olAWSOCzoc0eBq9B54oijfc9vMTXn-QRdQKCu0sLoJgpgfQ/s1600/baptism+011.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi1gJJz84JvUPyaPhfK9mkOBksJiaNUbBC2E8kOxCtdO5up0xz7cRA3yR80IGJqcW9oQRcdFo9x8MpXYOcrTHt-NYi0uVY8olAWSOCzoc0eBq9B54oijfc9vMTXn-QRdQKCu0sLoJgpgfQ/s320/baptism+011.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5407361754902075330" /></a><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgcGhyphenhyphen808ePPqY-MIRRfUvdVCAuuUIwtEQg5JJwcBOvVrNScXAxWDhyPJyep9TDbhyTph-U0db2a8NAHM8TeSbzdIZiMJCUG9t7lpXhGa96jf26ZRbpHG5Mkt01j5nKjcJiItp8opYErO0/s1600/baptism+008.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgcGhyphenhyphen808ePPqY-MIRRfUvdVCAuuUIwtEQg5JJwcBOvVrNScXAxWDhyPJyep9TDbhyTph-U0db2a8NAHM8TeSbzdIZiMJCUG9t7lpXhGa96jf26ZRbpHG5Mkt01j5nKjcJiItp8opYErO0/s320/baptism+008.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5407361743893767298" /></a><br /> This past weekend we had a baptism both Ssturday and Sunday mornings at the beach. We had them early at 7:30 so no one else would be on the beach. We had a song, prayer, and talk at the chapel and then caravaned to the ocean. Sunday Dad was able to baptize a wonderful lady who was born in Surinam, grew up in Holland, and then moved here to Aruba about 20 years ago. He then confirmed her during the regular Sacrament meeting.pietzmissionhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10813425317801654052noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6373674737690055812.post-89143808081245633932009-11-05T06:30:00.000-08:002009-11-05T06:48:23.382-08:00Another PDay Outing<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEihzHDs6BTSIyvL5SF863EzpHESX3_SgcjVFb9rbBRs4fKSW-TFyhgXw_Z-Hv6BXpMg3n4ZBqifxqXL8CrQfXF7UgkB9FPoD0ascayaplP2_DeErVAHMV6KTBhRJJ88iEQPoDjcevULl3k/s1600-h/Aruba+pday+089.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEihzHDs6BTSIyvL5SF863EzpHESX3_SgcjVFb9rbBRs4fKSW-TFyhgXw_Z-Hv6BXpMg3n4ZBqifxqXL8CrQfXF7UgkB9FPoD0ascayaplP2_DeErVAHMV6KTBhRJJ88iEQPoDjcevULl3k/s320/Aruba+pday+089.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5400630599336032498" /></a><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8i_RD21_AmI4jT2-ovhkSCNxn0KQ6ecoSaNktgQ9K93KrrkrIPCpCtrnjTChtpGGDSyszxj-Ok2yqfkZ81tt9exS0qH7JdSKgfkoEj8rnlK9d2Lbvtg6rtQi79q9RX_XRFOmCi56YoGA/s1600-h/Aruba+pday+084.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8i_RD21_AmI4jT2-ovhkSCNxn0KQ6ecoSaNktgQ9K93KrrkrIPCpCtrnjTChtpGGDSyszxj-Ok2yqfkZ81tt9exS0qH7JdSKgfkoEj8rnlK9d2Lbvtg6rtQi79q9RX_XRFOmCi56YoGA/s320/Aruba+pday+084.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5400630595906894242" /></a><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhtf7vC4CdK_Qmu8d1SpGtuWzWwJfsL0yX5KEhCOp1CIUSwZTmUNUdPQKENq00Om-AWPS3JXCL18mKkhQiW6J5O3TQz7NMBiOk7i46bpqBEyzOkQSao9NvgiXfiFblBQgduqUlO0f5irI0/s1600-h/Aruba+pday+082.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhtf7vC4CdK_Qmu8d1SpGtuWzWwJfsL0yX5KEhCOp1CIUSwZTmUNUdPQKENq00Om-AWPS3JXCL18mKkhQiW6J5O3TQz7NMBiOk7i46bpqBEyzOkQSao9NvgiXfiFblBQgduqUlO0f5irI0/s320/Aruba+pday+082.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5400628963027821602" /></a><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgSs9dhvCYU_SgkIS-AM7evXmZNfnSkmGIiWN-nvipZZWq8nMXg6RKpgplDzLQZGYvPyE0KBrlUdPU8m9zUw7yN6xOcYFznrngkDBEcje8G2EG2S1eC-rs1ZI2QQVPLyYFGBdY8l5KsHCw/s1600-h/Aruba+pday+056.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgSs9dhvCYU_SgkIS-AM7evXmZNfnSkmGIiWN-nvipZZWq8nMXg6RKpgplDzLQZGYvPyE0KBrlUdPU8m9zUw7yN6xOcYFznrngkDBEcje8G2EG2S1eC-rs1ZI2QQVPLyYFGBdY8l5KsHCw/s320/Aruba+pday+056.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5400628957735777506" /></a><br /> This past week we went along the coast again and found a beautiful spot. Most of the cemeteries are owned and maintained by the Catholic Church. This one was totally filled with weeds and trash. The graves are on top of the ground and covered with cement and then tiles. Dave got into a wasps' nest. We were all tired, sore, and hot. All the community did make a small dent in the cleanup, but it needs more work.pietzmissionhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10813425317801654052noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6373674737690055812.post-91986448705748596852009-11-05T03:55:00.000-08:002009-11-05T08:48:45.358-08:00EXPLORING CAVES NEAR THE COAST<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1270u4Cz5hpLOotw7brzVGh5TXy62o-eQyC8-d0zMY4zApkB2eu-lbgrm0b4UPmtzzitz3v8Ibz-H-MkeJc2zkXrdPBaG1CDttRV8hE4cfvodZvBYItJdQgeVa9H7LIzSNJweY7EDwQ0/s1600-h/Aruba+pday+035.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1270u4Cz5hpLOotw7brzVGh5TXy62o-eQyC8-d0zMY4zApkB2eu-lbgrm0b4UPmtzzitz3v8Ibz-H-MkeJc2zkXrdPBaG1CDttRV8hE4cfvodZvBYItJdQgeVa9H7LIzSNJweY7EDwQ0/s320/Aruba+pday+035.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5400599335200649746" /></a><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgiUcMWrMOaII0mSLCChwOKW946J8S0oNQYL-dTQV7-S74fWKTISewF2dGtskTxRcEBct-LU89uQlhnnOSsPPQEtVJatk20i5dU0vAwDnE-hkwbGsxYiUzF4bPoEVLJE_4twkF__7n2DAg/s1600-h/Aruba+pday+033.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgiUcMWrMOaII0mSLCChwOKW946J8S0oNQYL-dTQV7-S74fWKTISewF2dGtskTxRcEBct-LU89uQlhnnOSsPPQEtVJatk20i5dU0vAwDnE-hkwbGsxYiUzF4bPoEVLJE_4twkF__7n2DAg/s320/Aruba+pday+033.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5400598141105067138" /></a><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjeFn0JABzXMiZP1FQ0vHv3JHi6ovAbdWxBTC-Ad2py9bHHkkxN6l9MrfRxPlecalvHn1wSHwTkOpyNx2kOnxdRQC4pI5xI-177Lzf8FKDFQd-g-d3e-LCNcNCl_lbPF1uJeIp2S9ITglg/s1600-h/Aruba+pday+005.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjeFn0JABzXMiZP1FQ0vHv3JHi6ovAbdWxBTC-Ad2py9bHHkkxN6l9MrfRxPlecalvHn1wSHwTkOpyNx2kOnxdRQC4pI5xI-177Lzf8FKDFQd-g-d3e-LCNcNCl_lbPF1uJeIp2S9ITglg/s320/Aruba+pday+005.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5400598136335505138" /></a><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhl2DNEp_BTsyjjYXaT01dRfkZTGmBjAQoNW9S-ucCxK8NFnMVQV0vWcTab9HQFhARo7T_q80CklilUcr6OahjVGbUOsnLOOFqMvKXFu_SsNTO8dmiy3Bi8NwtsUtxcORrz-R4RYZl-T38/s1600-h/Aruba+pday+002.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhl2DNEp_BTsyjjYXaT01dRfkZTGmBjAQoNW9S-ucCxK8NFnMVQV0vWcTab9HQFhARo7T_q80CklilUcr6OahjVGbUOsnLOOFqMvKXFu_SsNTO8dmiy3Bi8NwtsUtxcORrz-R4RYZl-T38/s320/Aruba+pday+002.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5400596422299170386" /></a><br /> On preparation day last week we went with the young elders and sisters driving along the coast. You climbed the stairs and went into a cave that had many small caverns in it. Any caves I've ever been in were always cool. However, this cave was super hot and it seemed very short on air. There was a guide who took us through the cave. He was actually there to make sure no one bothered bats or destroyed the stalagmites and stalactites. Luckily I didn't go into the last part because that's where the bats were sleeping during the day.pietzmissionhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10813425317801654052noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6373674737690055812.post-50347233816599100292009-10-23T16:35:00.000-07:002009-10-23T16:40:50.502-07:00More Houses<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiamhaqg9JO5MNVdJqNtjO4awgDid___k5p86oQpQzfdhf0kdbkMs07YnLp5rkoqj090nhG0pn5Vk-OPHHyWfvesaFJcVo6g6n5ALe26XWkixQl5sAV78dOBXpSDfFcAatIUZmT8dLWWaY/s1600-h/House1"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiamhaqg9JO5MNVdJqNtjO4awgDid___k5p86oQpQzfdhf0kdbkMs07YnLp5rkoqj090nhG0pn5Vk-OPHHyWfvesaFJcVo6g6n5ALe26XWkixQl5sAV78dOBXpSDfFcAatIUZmT8dLWWaY/s320/House1" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5395944300984782290" /></a><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhU7UvAqIOmuh57rRRRQgOPqaKL3VEwgxGtnqgcoXiic1lcXEDflPHqFzrb5kIGbqkBV6b6Zlhk9Ell3T9Our6w_sAgAN34p8Is93HtJqnIqbyWoTpf7lVTMszEZTTSeAy0eeVjJLdJAuY/s1600-h/House2"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhU7UvAqIOmuh57rRRRQgOPqaKL3VEwgxGtnqgcoXiic1lcXEDflPHqFzrb5kIGbqkBV6b6Zlhk9Ell3T9Our6w_sAgAN34p8Is93HtJqnIqbyWoTpf7lVTMszEZTTSeAy0eeVjJLdJAuY/s320/House2" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5395944295271656354" /></a><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiD-05rX9TmQ4CgrZjZZNKRQSqiVO4bXgBjEcDq9WoqepCJfRxGO-1AgoCVlia9qGIYpLGg9NF8mdfq8aNxS1esm2ZnjVVgv1g0PpC2tmqPfbAraHJWBWDhoElDS2ssF0XDoWZ3UUf3RE4/s1600-h/House3"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiD-05rX9TmQ4CgrZjZZNKRQSqiVO4bXgBjEcDq9WoqepCJfRxGO-1AgoCVlia9qGIYpLGg9NF8mdfq8aNxS1esm2ZnjVVgv1g0PpC2tmqPfbAraHJWBWDhoElDS2ssF0XDoWZ3UUf3RE4/s320/House3" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5395944290269366210" /></a><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhf_gQdihD8LwPDtAsIfmt8U45rBIYnkOMfjxyWOrRbIpCeXeSafptmJ2yMpcQa_RScvedU0L5GnHvKLUcb0NEYnYX-BjtlYJtN2fttFZrgNjCahQsGOa7iBPUSJMimhsRvqOXa2o5WWxk/s1600-h/House4"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhf_gQdihD8LwPDtAsIfmt8U45rBIYnkOMfjxyWOrRbIpCeXeSafptmJ2yMpcQa_RScvedU0L5GnHvKLUcb0NEYnYX-BjtlYJtN2fttFZrgNjCahQsGOa7iBPUSJMimhsRvqOXa2o5WWxk/s320/House4" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5395944285643208178" /></a><br />The first three houses are next to one another near our chapel. Then they add stucco to the outside and paint them. They love bright colors--blue, lime, purple, yellow, mustard, and burnt red especially. The fences around the houses are all different and unique. They too are painted bright colors. I loved the lime green fence. The house with all the palm trees is more upscale. Other than at the highrise hotel end of the island often you find a rundown house next to a very nice house. Often the people work on the houses themselves to try to save some money. Everything is very expensive here. Many of the houses are small.pietzmissionhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10813425317801654052noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6373674737690055812.post-5805664032247414502009-10-07T11:05:00.000-07:002009-10-07T11:11:47.148-07:00<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibkeFDAz65BK_WtvEJ1L71KWeJpNtMtKiHzX2qdm0DHEEzZtAwfDWa9Dd72QoEMdUpBVj11UGZH8fkqMvcxA89MlnqNUNxhmPFPXyHkbKcOtcMsvmBh9ReeHEYwBk4GcMrfJ2HR_OlAkQ/s1600-h/goat"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 180px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibkeFDAz65BK_WtvEJ1L71KWeJpNtMtKiHzX2qdm0DHEEzZtAwfDWa9Dd72QoEMdUpBVj11UGZH8fkqMvcxA89MlnqNUNxhmPFPXyHkbKcOtcMsvmBh9ReeHEYwBk4GcMrfJ2HR_OlAkQ/s320/goat" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5389922359187053074" /></a><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHqTV3qihm5Jv52RAVsyWhiS4f-FuSIp8XkMnCuEVcns5cIiug7gxYl5pUgivXeaNlSuU6MM85dfoj0_CtJDvKcteGJyJ2IiBf074i1-q0Ed35t6JWRbIBtIfBfJA7rsnMUHVpr7zM8Q8/s1600-h/golfcart"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 180px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHqTV3qihm5Jv52RAVsyWhiS4f-FuSIp8XkMnCuEVcns5cIiug7gxYl5pUgivXeaNlSuU6MM85dfoj0_CtJDvKcteGJyJ2IiBf074i1-q0Ed35t6JWRbIBtIfBfJA7rsnMUHVpr7zM8Q8/s320/golfcart" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5389922352182572322" /></a>pietzmissionhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10813425317801654052noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6373674737690055812.post-91238946615732604542009-10-07T08:22:00.000-07:002009-10-07T08:31:36.378-07:00More on Desert Golf<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2Cj3VbJ-xoysycZR33Jd6dNbI07QVZ05evcksFqjRjgK1olcFORtWxnALVEGmym6wFltFZxvaCkdZlYUyshxdp6eEuC8MLghGxZHvte0dPu9NyyajpOupnrXjPj3cFlAJkBz6jjHwh3w/s1600-h/PDR_0450.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2Cj3VbJ-xoysycZR33Jd6dNbI07QVZ05evcksFqjRjgK1olcFORtWxnALVEGmym6wFltFZxvaCkdZlYUyshxdp6eEuC8MLghGxZHvte0dPu9NyyajpOupnrXjPj3cFlAJkBz6jjHwh3w/s320/PDR_0450.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5389880972082294210" /></a><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEivfHHkr-duni4OWCVxMUnYNz8mDxvaipU7CGaEQs6CgQABEBuKbA0HE4TA9tyMgRE8e8SvXX5JAo7EHxtJ8EQ6Pc8MMVpLYq8BQ0wJcWeTn9JiTdulcnQz69ZXPmJMbTKvbE9f8Y2WW9k/s1600-h/PDR_0451.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEivfHHkr-duni4OWCVxMUnYNz8mDxvaipU7CGaEQs6CgQABEBuKbA0HE4TA9tyMgRE8e8SvXX5JAo7EHxtJ8EQ6Pc8MMVpLYq8BQ0wJcWeTn9JiTdulcnQz69ZXPmJMbTKvbE9f8Y2WW9k/s320/PDR_0451.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5389880961334866338" /></a><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMK3t4JNWGZ5AsugVpk30Q2yL8ButyDuirvhCszP_3i1xyAol_C4x7DA7-gr7AhnKBUD0PnS5hx5uycigUQ1zCeQhZ_x8I4r6Nkdns8BNti30o64CUv4Lpp5ropvzibUwbxLRkaT-PzlE/s1600-h/PDR_0453.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMK3t4JNWGZ5AsugVpk30Q2yL8ButyDuirvhCszP_3i1xyAol_C4x7DA7-gr7AhnKBUD0PnS5hx5uycigUQ1zCeQhZ_x8I4r6Nkdns8BNti30o64CUv4Lpp5ropvzibUwbxLRkaT-PzlE/s320/PDR_0453.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5389880948383184050" /></a><br />One sister is hitting her ball which is in the rough. You can tell by the red post on the left of the picture. We didn't venture far into the cactus or bushes, so we didn't see any snakes. However, we did see donkeys and about 75 goats. It was a strange sight to see goats on the "green". Afterwards we had a barbeque at our place for all of them.pietzmissionhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10813425317801654052noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6373674737690055812.post-489885697084306492009-10-07T06:35:00.000-07:002009-10-07T06:52:37.566-07:00The Desert Golf Course<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQrj2of9mt5bz18iyr-fQvG61mrLCCZUbZZrzzRVyn3no-HkEuSZxx46J7TFJdKw-BnR8NjumUO4qSTCaZFfcnMtxdVd3WqscgllDlasalPgNqAY6G66bEDagX-VY5ucSasr3XGFWq14o/s1600-h/PDR_0442.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQrj2of9mt5bz18iyr-fQvG61mrLCCZUbZZrzzRVyn3no-HkEuSZxx46J7TFJdKw-BnR8NjumUO4qSTCaZFfcnMtxdVd3WqscgllDlasalPgNqAY6G66bEDagX-VY5ucSasr3XGFWq14o/s320/PDR_0442.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5389855090827137602" /></a><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgCbBBMRPUlae9-iEEQkF-09zM18inCEr3L07zdXIHIJ_i6S_RhkWnI909HLtL75Arf13p_JRHsF8tSUPAmDLRCUBis0FxlWya9qYEYcp7TInK95BnrdBPkGKVPT9gX6Tj_Xk0MyDlOwAM/s1600-h/PDR_0444.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgCbBBMRPUlae9-iEEQkF-09zM18inCEr3L07zdXIHIJ_i6S_RhkWnI909HLtL75Arf13p_JRHsF8tSUPAmDLRCUBis0FxlWya9qYEYcp7TInK95BnrdBPkGKVPT9gX6Tj_Xk0MyDlOwAM/s320/PDR_0444.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5389855080110519170" /></a><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhs6qnj_JPPNerDGTJDafX5eXb5fl-kPDp4pScp2hIbno-Enf9dmdSPvY_PIlwu8FmRt489dCK4UrUHODiTxU8D_vb1s-KsjgMTVAMoSuNHHgs_YcvkR4OZ5PIlBUmhZ5_lsGszbmkPaOY/s1600-h/PDR_0446.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhs6qnj_JPPNerDGTJDafX5eXb5fl-kPDp4pScp2hIbno-Enf9dmdSPvY_PIlwu8FmRt489dCK4UrUHODiTxU8D_vb1s-KsjgMTVAMoSuNHHgs_YcvkR4OZ5PIlBUmhZ5_lsGszbmkPaOY/s320/PDR_0446.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5389855075197897426" /></a><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiIHzxpZufmJlkEi4-MLTHS93UNWPl8hyphenhyphen1r9PXKhEy_PWkSnAsp-tZWF9782Er4t_x755O_nIDfgd3uffwv2w2hUiVjtXA4pF5M72sLmKCGKl1O8GuIwn3ujmeLziAcb5MtlLPICsd49nc/s1600-h/PDR_0449.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiIHzxpZufmJlkEi4-MLTHS93UNWPl8hyphenhyphen1r9PXKhEy_PWkSnAsp-tZWF9782Er4t_x755O_nIDfgd3uffwv2w2hUiVjtXA4pF5M72sLmKCGKl1O8GuIwn3ujmeLziAcb5MtlLPICsd49nc/s320/PDR_0449.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5389855065893173682" /></a><br />One of the young missionaries is teeing off on the first tee. As you can see it is pretty desolate and yet here there are no cactus or bushes as your rough. Another missionary went to retrieve my ball from the cactus. You need to take a club with you because of the snakes. The close up picture of cactus includes a dark colored flat surface that is the green. This is all sand that has been mixed with oil. You can use a carpet as a kind of rake to smooth the green before you shoot. The only trouble is that the greens smell. Also your ball does not roll well. Of course, your ball doesn't roll well on the course either. Once the ball hits the sand or rocks it pretty much stops dead. I hadn't golfed for over 40 years and this was Dave's first attempt. He didn't see why so many people get so much enjoyment from playing golf. It could be that the temperature was over 100 and the humidity high and the wind was very strong. His whole head today is very red. We had golf carts and the "kids" saved us the new cart. However, there was a lot of walking because we didn't hit the ball that far and it was easier to just walk. Hole # 1 took over an hour to play. We had a sister missionary who had never played before either and there were six of us playing together. After 3 1/2 hours we had finished 5 holes.pietzmissionhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10813425317801654052noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6373674737690055812.post-66726634361373278632009-10-07T06:19:00.000-07:002009-10-07T06:34:41.782-07:00Fun on Preparation Day<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgUaEchwBybWeeAtmwqFg8TXNGkXNdaXt-NtcxtpDls-RLjvObJ8immuMHuV3zO4ejhmSVri6o_gbpRQIz5FvPiAaU6bE7Bc3hgwGHAEsr_J75xavo6Uh-QFkp13Cmg8cfAg2xSAeICpFQ/s1600-h/PDR_0439.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgUaEchwBybWeeAtmwqFg8TXNGkXNdaXt-NtcxtpDls-RLjvObJ8immuMHuV3zO4ejhmSVri6o_gbpRQIz5FvPiAaU6bE7Bc3hgwGHAEsr_J75xavo6Uh-QFkp13Cmg8cfAg2xSAeICpFQ/s320/PDR_0439.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5389850756232278098" /></a><br />Each week we have one day to take care of personal business such as laundry, shopping, haircuts, email, cleaning, etc. and hopefully have some time for fun. This week we decided to get all the missionaries (14) together from all parts of the island and go desert golfing. Eight of them took the bus to this end of the island and we squeezed in cars and went to the course. The well at the golf course ran dry several years ago and has now reverted to what most of the island looks like--desert, rocks, and cactus. Here is a picture of all the missionaries except us as we were taking all the pictures.pietzmissionhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10813425317801654052noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6373674737690055812.post-80213089496280359252009-09-12T07:06:00.000-07:002009-09-12T07:23:49.133-07:00TOURING ARUBA<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjIlRARaSlNw9VlPnRA61NwsRtYynqnKUiGDM48KoBSbH44LGG_R2quaaeQg6g7uMCFnlNBT6OuF1JGh3exETW3F-sG1KCWy0oCKdhMclGHIu4R-b1jL3ipTqN5jQwpjVsIr9lRhYLlDi4/s1600-h/PDR_0424.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5380585748666522466" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 214px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjIlRARaSlNw9VlPnRA61NwsRtYynqnKUiGDM48KoBSbH44LGG_R2quaaeQg6g7uMCFnlNBT6OuF1JGh3exETW3F-sG1KCWy0oCKdhMclGHIu4R-b1jL3ipTqN5jQwpjVsIr9lRhYLlDi4/s320/PDR_0424.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVcAteyMIKYvDlheWhTfp_jLYGUA8Ku8ZEVmjM2HJaSV_vlxImoS6B0Azs9fmHLS-hb5FvKvNeOilRaG7d-vI3JmqPOXddj4z1A5sgN_KVSsh57QGOxImmyCSlSV86G2ivTERU0N_OLmE/s1600-h/PDR_0422.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5380585742022019650" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 214px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVcAteyMIKYvDlheWhTfp_jLYGUA8Ku8ZEVmjM2HJaSV_vlxImoS6B0Azs9fmHLS-hb5FvKvNeOilRaG7d-vI3JmqPOXddj4z1A5sgN_KVSsh57QGOxImmyCSlSV86G2ivTERU0N_OLmE/s320/PDR_0422.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiWP3X1oqordAIam92FBRk27dtWQx3A-3KsonhwN9U-fRB0FuTGiNMLKi85ApkyPTGH0ktLAfO5dZh1Y6LR8OcCzCTH1D9ralvaTncGevU7PY-4VMriAF0VsS07BDGTijGhRHz7LRvBc9g/s1600-h/PDR_0420.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5380585733479022882" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 214px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiWP3X1oqordAIam92FBRk27dtWQx3A-3KsonhwN9U-fRB0FuTGiNMLKi85ApkyPTGH0ktLAfO5dZh1Y6LR8OcCzCTH1D9ralvaTncGevU7PY-4VMriAF0VsS07BDGTijGhRHz7LRvBc9g/s320/PDR_0420.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijPoVyDQ5lV_SHNRVQIcIwKDSWOq6ZlXjB0C7apJjb_oia4gcJ1KhOGwy7Mb-sbuSHydSr30wjX7p9NGVX414DtOxbIEiBkDSeKih1yAqakiyXsTpEFpXwhFmyGHA6_TgAHxPDPQJ0fDM/s1600-h/PDR_0419.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5380585724121477346" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 214px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijPoVyDQ5lV_SHNRVQIcIwKDSWOq6ZlXjB0C7apJjb_oia4gcJ1KhOGwy7Mb-sbuSHydSr30wjX7p9NGVX414DtOxbIEiBkDSeKih1yAqakiyXsTpEFpXwhFmyGHA6_TgAHxPDPQJ0fDM/s320/PDR_0419.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhob4vHmxqmTtpDmlkcKEI9Tx4mwiYqkkUS3DEXXaDiVEZ7UwL2RInPyUgimSbH3S5gCmrKH4JDurLmLPefjSMkKu6MGpQDAxBI5wX-xYUjIw0AOESnbDvdViwnWQISJYYlipIjZ6WpFMI/s1600-h/PDR_0412.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5380585721946158338" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 214px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhob4vHmxqmTtpDmlkcKEI9Tx4mwiYqkkUS3DEXXaDiVEZ7UwL2RInPyUgimSbH3S5gCmrKH4JDurLmLPefjSMkKu6MGpQDAxBI5wX-xYUjIw0AOESnbDvdViwnWQISJYYlipIjZ6WpFMI/s320/PDR_0412.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><div>Yesterday our Branch President took us and two senior sisters from Bonaire on a tour of the island. <br />An exciting event was a baptism in the Caribbean Sea. We had a short service at the chapel and then drove to the beach, had the baptism, sang a song, had a prayer and then had some refreshments. The last picture shows the young elders and young sisters that we have been working with. The first picture shows most of the women at the baptism.
